Homework Policy
Wow, policy sounds official doesn’t it? After years of input from parents I’ve worked out an easy homework policy for families to manage. Homework will be sent home on Monday and students will have until Friday to complete and return it. This gives your family the freedom to choose a routine that’s convenient for you. Each assignment will include a brief note explaining it’s purpose and the due date. However, this is not the procedure for spelling lists. Those are sent home on Friday so students have them for practice over the weekend. You’ll hear your child talk about the Homework Game. This is a fun incentive to encourage responsibility as well as experience with a coordinate grid. It’s pretty simple…If homework is completed and returned on time the student will sign their name to a square on the grid. When the grid is full (usually once a month) we’ll play the homework game. The more squares a child has filled in the better chance they have to win and a lesson in probability is learned as well!
